The Cold War Begins
Satellite State - the creation of newly formed countries in eastern Europe which were sectioned from the boundary of one larger country, mostly Russia.
Cold War - the superpower struggle involving the United States and the Soviet Union solely based being the best through advancements in military.
Iron Curtain - the geographical boundary of the Ural Mountains in Russia, which divides western Europe (Britain, France, Spain, etc....) to that of eastern Europe (western Russia mostly).
Aspiration - the result of obtaining or achieving something through strong will and adversity.
Truman Doctrine - a foreign policy improvement by President Harry Truman looked at preventing communism from influencing troubling nations by providing them assistance and further preventing actions of war.
Containment - keeping the ideas or beliefs of what other countries have outside the boundaries of your own country's perspective (example - U.S. wants to keep government a democracy; Cuba - communist country with no government, U.S. doesn't want it to spread).
38th parallel - the geographical position which separates the entire country of Korea by north and south boundaries, governed by the Soviets and the United States respectively.
Intervene - stepping into a situation by taking a commitment with the idea of resolving matters peacefully or shifting the direction to avoid confrontation.
Limited war - having a mindset where the outcome in mind is very precise.
The Cold War Expands
Arms Race - a competition between two powerful groups who are executing to accomplish an advancement technology power.
Mutually Assured Destruction - the idea that various powerful military and mobile weapons are on standby, although the intentions are not to fully wanting to start any destruction.
Brinkmanship - going to the maximum point of one's aspirations until it pushes you towards engaging in a matter of combat or conflict.
Nationalize - recognizing ownership of an environmental resource which contributes to the region withing or outside its boundaries.
Eisenhower Doctrine - responses to any hostile attempts by nations in the Middle East which look to use communism as a form of chaos towards a democratic government.
Nuclear arms - creation of weapons with the intent for an explosive detonation or nuclear reaction upon a target resulting in massive devastation.
Central Intelligence Agency - established by Congress as an organization to investigate potential or credible threats which are taken into action against the United States.
National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) - the improvement in the areas of science and math education, which Congress promotes military and scientific ideas for development outside our galaxy.
Red Scare - the idea to threaten or disrupt the American way of life (or Americanization) within the borders of the United States or spreading outside the borders (like communism).
Tangible - definite or clear cut evidence which can be inferred upon, observed, or required contact.
